Christopher has been active in the field of disability for over ten years in a variety of professional roles. He holds educational degrees with majors in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Counseling, with a specialization in the study of disabilities. Christopher has worked in a variety of settings: acute care, rehabilitation centers, private practice, fitness and wellness, as well as disability insurance and corporate settings. He currently utilizes his comprehensive background in working with his clients to bring the best results.
Christopher is a constant learner. He keeps current with state-of-the-art practices and procedures in the fitness, ergonomics, rehabilitation , counseling and wellness field through ongoing certification and training, and is pursuing doctoral training. He is professionally affiliated with the New York Metro Chapter of the National Rehabilitation Association, where he was the 2009/2010 President and is currently the president of the Northeast Rehabilitation Association with active and ongoing involvement in clinical and political issues. Christopher promotes advocacy and barrier-free living for individuals with disabilities. His philosophy integrates comprehensive care and wellness perspectives.
Christopher is also a Master Level Personal Trainer, Corrective Exercise Specialist, Strength Training Specialist, Yoga, Mat Pilates and Group Fitness Instructor incorporating his experience and training to bring the best wellness perspectives to his clients. He has developed specialized programs for his clients to bring them optimal wellness.
As a university professor he teaches courses in counseling, mental health, wellness, fitness, and both medical and psychosocial aspects of disability. His belief is to educate individuals about wellness perspectives and teach how to incorporate it into their own lives. Optimal wellness comes from a balanced lifestyle including: mind/body perspectives, good nutrition, and spiritual awareness.
